Setup

Position the bar securely across the upper back and grip it firmly. Set the feet around shoulder-width apart with the toes slightly turned out. Brace the trunk, keep the chest controlled, and establish balanced pressure through the whole foot before beginning the descent.

Execution

Descend by bending at the hips and knees while keeping the feet firmly planted and the trunk controlled. Allow the knees to track in line with the toes and lower to a depth you can control. Drive upward through the floor while maintaining balance, trunk position and knee alignment.
