Who it's for
Who This Coaching Is For
Muscle building coaching starts from where you are now. Whether you are learning to train with structure or trying to move beyond a plateau, the plan reflects your experience, goals and the time you can consistently give it.
New to Structured Strength Training
Learn technique, appropriate effort and a training structure you can follow consistently.
Training Regularly but Stuck
You’ve been consistent for a while, but progress has slowed. Coaching gives your training a clearer structure and a regular review of what’s working.
Ready for a Focused Physique Goal
Make muscle building a clear priority within your experience and schedule.
The method
The Muscle Building Method
Your programme starts with you: your experience, the sessions you can train and how you respond. From there, we set clear training priorities.
Training built around useful decisions
Exercise selection
We choose movements that train the muscles you want to develop and suit your current ability. The programme can use compound and more targeted exercises without treating one fixed list of lifts as essential for everyone.
Technique
Setup, range of motion and control affect the work each exercise provides. I coach these details so you can perform your sessions with greater consistency and understand what you are trying to improve.
Effort
Working hard matters, but every set does not need to end in failure. We choose an appropriate level of effort for the exercise, your experience and the training you still need to complete.
Weekly distribution
We organise sessions around the days you can train and how you recover. The goal is enough useful practice and training work across the week, with room to adjust when your schedule changes.
Example only
One way to organise four training days
This upper/lower example distributes work across the week while allowing time between similar sessions.
Presses, rows, vertical pulls and arms.
Squat pattern, hip hinge and complementary leg work.
Recovery or light activity as appropriate.
A second upper-body session with adjusted exercise emphasis.
A second lower-body session with adjusted exercise emphasis.
Recovery and preparation for the next week.
In this example, most muscle groups receive training on about two days.
One example for someone training four days a week. Your plan depends on your experience, schedule and recovery. It may use three sessions, full-body training or another structure entirely.
Progression
We review training performance, technique and set quality, then adjust repetitions, load, exercises or workload when appropriate. Progress is built over time without requiring an increase every session.
Nutrition
Eating enough and getting adequate protein help support training. Roughly 1.6–2.0 g of protein per kg of body weight per day is a useful reference for many people who train; we set a realistic target around your size, appetite, goal and routine.
Recovery
Sleep, stress and the rest of your week influence what training you can repeat productively. We consider how you respond between sessions and adjust the plan when recovery calls for it.
The process

Review
Use performance, consistency and recovery to decide what to adjust.
Coaching is reviewed as you train.
Relevant measures may be reassessed around every 8–12 weeks when useful.
Measuring progress
How We Recognise Progress
No single session or measurement tells the whole story. We look for useful trends across several signs.
Training performance
Are you doing more useful work over time?
We consider repetitions, loading, control and how consistently you perform the exercises.
Body changes
Are relevant body measures moving in the intended direction?
We choose measures with you, such as circumferences, photos or how clothing fits, then consider the trend.
Consistency
Can you keep training and recovering?
We look at completed sessions, how you respond between them and whether the plan fits your life.
An example of a coaching decision
Performance has stalled across several sessions while fatigue is rising.
Review recovery and workload, then adjust the next training block where needed.
Muscle building takes time, and the rate varies from person to person. We look for several signs of progress, review training as it happens and reassess relevant measures when they help guide the next decision.

Common Questions
Questions About Building Muscle
Starting a muscle-building plan can raise questions about training, food and how to judge progress. Here are answers to the questions I hear most often.
The Short Answer
You don’t need to know your ideal training split or coaching format before we speak. Tell me how you train now, what you want to change and where you feel stuck. I’ll recommend an appropriate starting point.
How often do I need to train to build muscle?
Your schedule, experience and recovery determine the plan. We’ll organise the sessions you can complete consistently and make sure the muscles you want to develop receive useful work across the week.
Do I need to lift heavier every session?
No. Better technique, more controlled repetitions or completing more useful work can also show progress. We review your training over time and increase load when it is appropriate.
Do I need to eat more to build muscle?
Your food intake needs to support your training, and eating enough protein matters. Whether you need to eat more depends on your current habits, starting point and physique goal. We’ll work out a practical approach for you.
How long will it take to see a difference?
The rate varies between people. Improvements in training performance may appear before visible body changes, so we review several signs of progress rather than promise a particular result by a set date.
Can I start if I’m new to strength training?
Yes. We begin with suitable exercises and coach technique, effort and a manageable routine. The plan develops as you gain experience and confidence.
Should I choose 1-to-1, Hybrid or the Online Programme?
That depends on how much direct coaching you need and how comfortable you are training independently. During your free consultation, we’ll discuss your experience, schedule and goals before recommending a format.
Do I need supplements?
Not necessarily. Consistent training, enough food, protein and sleep come first. If a supplement might be useful for your circumstances, we can discuss what it would add to your plan.
